  • Todd Kashdan, The Art of Insubordination: How to Dissent and Defy Effectively. Avery, 2022.In chapter 6 on building mental fortitude, Todd has an extensive discussion of psychological flexibility as more helpful way to withstand distress than trying to put it out of mind.  It might be that using his 4 steps to become more psychologically flexible might contribute to writing more fluently:

    Step 1: “What and who is important to me?”Step 2: “What unwanted thoughts, feelings, memories, and bodily sensations am I experiencing?”Step 3: “What am I doing to reduce, avoid, or control unwanted content?”Step 4: “What am I doing or could be doing to chase my values?”
